صوفئی میرفت و جانی پرغمش
پای بازی زد قفائی محکمش

چون قفای سخت خورد آنجایگاه
کرد آن صوفی مگر از پس نگاه

مرد گفت از چه ز پس نگرندهٔ
کاینت باید خورد تا تو زندهٔ

English translation

A Sufi was walking with a soul full of sorrow; A playful person dealt him a hard blow on the back of his neck. When he received that hard blow there, That Sufi looked behind him. The man said, 'Why do you look behind you? For you must receive this as long as you are alive.'
