بود مردی چست خوش خوش نام او
حق تعالی کرده نامش دام او

گر کسی در جانش آتش میزدی
او نرنجیدی و خوش خوش میزدی

خانهٔ بودش فرو افتاد پاک
ماند فرزند و زنش در زیر خاک

ایستاده بود خوش خوش برکنار
وانگهی میگفت خوش خوش اینت کار

چون همه چیزی ز پیشان دید او
قول خوش خوش گفتن آسان دید او

گر چو خوش خوش خوش نبینی هر چه هست
خوش خوشی در ناخوشی افتی بشست

گر شود همچون زمین پست آسمان
تو خوشی خود طلب کن از میان

English translation

There was a brisk man whose name was Khosh-Khosh (Cheerful), God Almighty had made his name his snare. If someone were to set fire to his soul, He would not be offended, and would cheerfully bear it. His house completely collapsed, His child and wife remained under the rubble. He stood aside, cheerfully, And then he would say, 'Cheerfully, what a deed!' Since he saw everything as predestined, He found uttering the words 'cheerfully, cheerfully' easy. If you do not see whatever exists cheerfully like Khosh-Khosh, You will smoothly fall into unhappiness. If the sky becomes as low as the earth, Seek your own happiness from within it.
