بر زفان میراند یحیی بن المعاد
کای خداوندان علم و اعتقاد

قصرهاتان هست یکسر قیصری
خانه هاتان کسروی نه حیدری

جامه هاتان جمله خاتونی شده
مرکبانتان جمله قارونی شده

رویهاتان گشته ظلمانی همه
خویهاتان جمله شیطانی همه

هم عروسیهای فرعونی کنید
ماتم گبرانه صد لونی کنید

هم بعادتهای شدادی درید
هم به کبر و نخوت عادی درید

این همه دارید و هم زین بیش نیز
احمدی تان نیست آخر هیچ چیز

روز و شب مشغول رسم و کار و بار
نیستتان با دین احمد هیچ کار

English translation

Yahya bin Mu'adh uttered these words, Saying, 'O masters of knowledge and belief! Your palaces are entirely like Caesar's, Your homes are like Khosrau's, not Haidar's. Your garments have all become like those of noblewomen, Your mounts have all become like those of Qarun. Your faces have all grown dark, Your dispositions have all become demonic. You hold weddings like Pharaoh, You mourn like Zoroastrians in a hundred hues. You are steeped in the customs of Shaddad, You are mired in the pride and arrogance of 'Ad. You possess all this, and even more besides, Yet you have nothing of Ahmad in you at all. Day and night you are busy with customs and worldly affairs, You have no business with the religion of Ahmad.'
