Original content

English translation

The seeker, sacrificing his soul as a robe, When he returned like a toothpick before the Friend (Abraham), He said, O possessor of the kingdom of the soul, The dust of your feet is the Qibla of the world's people. From your three bends comes the righteousness of both worlds, Straighter than any crookedness seen of any kind. You became the father of the nation through fortune, You became the head of the companions of friendship. You cast yourself into the origin of origins, You cast the sun and moon into eclipse. When you saw the entire kingdom clearly, You placed your soul before the Beloved in between. Since you became solitary from yourself and your child, Inevitably you told Gabriel who carried it away. You lifted the veil from the face of the world, Without the world, you lifted the hidden secret. Since you threw the worlds upon each other, You made an argument from 'I have turned my face'. Since you were not a man of the father's court, God gave you proximity from the son's sacrifice. You came pure from your own existence, From that, you entered the fire swift and agile. In the world of gnosis you became mature, You became free from yourself and from this and that. Since you are an absolute Friend (Khalil) on your path, You are aware of both soul and body. Since I have no sign of soul or body, Reach a grain of dust from your path to my soul. I have come as your guest with shroud and sword, You withhold nothing from a guest. The Master of Friendship said to him, O son, Until you lament for a time up and down, They will not show you the way for a single hour, You need a world of obedience. Although giving him fortune is without cause, Obedience to Truth is the work of the fortunate one. If you are fortunate, you will perform obedience, Otherwise, you will perform obedience for only an hour. Since the tradition has gone this way, work, Work and do not do little, do much. When you are a man of work day and night, This quest will soon open the door to you. If you need a path in faithfulness, Ring the bell of my son Mustafa. Do not take your hand from his stirrup-strap for a moment, If he accepts you, never have sorrow. If his acceptance becomes certain for you, The smallest kingdom will become both worlds for you. If you have a journey toward Mustafa, Make a pass at the door of Moses son of Imran. The seeker came before the far-seeing elder, And there told him of the pain of religion. The elder told him: Abraham is pure, The sea of friendship, the world of pure submission. To whomever a atom of friendship was handed, Every moment a hundred kinds of fortune were handed. The beginning of friendship came as affection, Its end came as the robe of honor of friendship. From friendship they give way into love, And from love they then give you friendship. If an atom of love appears, A mountain will become a sea from its power.
