Original content

English translation

Cut the story short, for the judgment of the blind ego Carried him to the grave after a year. When the king returned from self-effacement to existence, His martial eye had shed that blood. When that peerless one looked at his quiver, He saw one arrow was missing from his quiver. He said, 'Where is that arrow?' and sought it from God; He said, 'It is in his throat, from your arrow.' That ocean-hearted king forgave him, but The arrow of a sigh had struck a fatal spot. He was killed, and he wept in lamentation for him; He is everything: both the slayer and the guardian. And if He is not both, then He is not the Whole; He is both the slayer of creation and the mourner. That pale-cheeked martyr gave thanks, That he struck the body and did not strike the meaning (spirit). The outward body is ultimately destined to depart; The meaning will live joyfully for eternity. If that reprimand occurred, it fell only upon the skin; The friend went to the Friend unharmed. Although he grasped the saddle-strap of the King of kings, In the end, he departed through the evil eye of perfection (ayn al-kamal). And that third one, who was the laziest of all three, He completely carried off both form and meaning.
