در مناجات آن بزرگ کاردان
گفت ای دانندهٔ اسرار دان

کور گردان خلق را در رستخیز
پس مرا جاوید چشمی بخش نیز

تا نبیند هیچکس جز من ترا
تا توانم دید بی دشمن ترا

بعد از آن چون مدتی بگذشت ازین
زینچه میخواست او ز حق برگشت ازین

گفت ای یاری ده هر دم مرا
در قیامت کور گردان هم مرا

تا نبینم آن جمال پر فروغ
کان بخویش آید دریغم بی دروغ

گرچه غیرت بردن از عاشق نکوست
غیرت معشوق دایم بیش ازوست

English translation

In supplication, that great master of affairs Said, 'O Knower of secrets, understand! Make all creatures blind on the Day of Resurrection, And then grant me everlasting sight, So that no one sees You except for me, So that I may see You without rivals.' After some time had passed since this, He turned back from what he had asked of God. He said, 'O You who help me at every breath, Make me blind too on the Day of Resurrection, So that I do not see that radiant beauty, For I would truly feel immense jealousy. Although feeling jealousy is fitting for a lover, The jealousy of the Beloved is always greater than his.'
