کرد ازمکه عمر عزم سفر
در سرای آبستنی بودش مگر

گفت الهی ای جهان روشن بتو
رفتم و طفلم سپردم من بتو

چون عمر القصه بازآمد ز راه
مرده بود آبستنش از دیرگاه

از سر گور زن آوازی رسید
کانچه بسپردی بیا کامد پدید

رفت امیرالمؤمنین بگشاد خاک
دید آن زن نیمهٔ ریزیده پاک

نیم دیگر زنده بود و تازه بود
طفل را زو شیر بی اندازه بود

در گرفته بود طفلش آن زمان
ای عجب پستان مادر در هان

برگرفت او را عمر زان جایگاه
هاتفیش آواز داد از پیشگاه

کانچه بسپردی بحق با تو سپرد
مادرش را چون بنسپردی بمرد

عصمت حق گر نباشد دسترس
خلق در عصمت نماند یک نفس

English translation

Umar made the intention to travel from Mecca, He happened to have a pregnant wife at home. He said, 'O God, by whom the world is illuminated, I am going, and I entrust my child to You.' When Umar, in short, returned from the road, His pregnant wife had died a while ago. From over the woman's grave, a voice arrived: 'Come, for what you entrusted has appeared.' The Commander of the Faithful went and opened the earth, He saw the woman, half of her completely decayed. The other half was alive and fresh, From it, there was boundless milk for the child. The child was embraced at that moment, O wonder! The mother's breast in its mouth. Umar took him from that place, An unseen caller called out to him from the Divine presence: 'That which you entrusted to the Truth, He entrusted back to you, Because you did not entrust its mother, she died. If the protection of the Truth is not within reach, The creation would not remain in protection for a single breath.'
