آن یکی عیسی مریم را چه گفت
گفت ای طاق ترا خورشید جفت
از چه خود را مینسازی خانهٔ
گفت آخر من نیم دیوانهٔ
هرچه نبود تا ابد همبر مرا
آن کجا هرگز بود در خور مرا
هرچه آن با تو فرو ناید به راه
فرق نبود چه گدا آنجا چه شاه
English translation
What did someone say to Jesus, son of Mary? He said, 'O peerless one, whose companion is the sun, Why do you not build a house for yourself?' He replied, 'After all, I am not a madman! Whatever will not be my companion until eternity, How can that ever be worthy of me? Whatever does not accompany you on the way, It makes no difference there whether one is a beggar or a king.'
