Section 1 - The Thirtieth Discourse
Original content
English translation
The seeker came wailing before Noah, He said: 'O Sheikh of sheikhs and soul of souls, A world of pain and an ocean of cure, The second Adam and the elder of the prophets. The world's drought of Canaan is yours, And marvelously, the world full of deluge is yours. When your tears in lamentation became many, Until a warm oven rained down the deluge. The ship of safety belongs specifically to you, And the ocean of faith is your sincerity forever. If anyone did not enter that ship, Their end was bound by 'In the name of Allah is its course'. I have seen no one thirstier than you, Consequently, your deluge came before and behind. Although the world was filled with your deluge, The thirst of your soul increased more. Until you came to this task with love, You became thirsty for the ocean of secrets. When that ocean manifested in its force, Your deluge cast a tumult into the world. When you quenched the thirst of the world, You steered the ship of safety. I am dead of love, send me a soul, I will die thirsty, send a deluge.' Noah said: 'O restless lamenter, Open your eyes and look at me. I ran in His path for a thousand years, Until He separated me from the host of disbelievers. I received wounds day and night for a long lifetime, Until with a hundred groans He opened the door to me. How can you reach that door so quickly? And how can you rise higher than the first step? You must inevitably practice patience, In order to be able to find a remedy for this matter. If you wish for a door to be opened to you, And for what you seek to show its face to you, From the door of the Prophet of the End of Time, Do not turn away your head even for a moment, like a ring on the door. For as long as the Sun is the guide, How can one travel by the stars? Seek the dust of the path in the Sun, Take the path of that eternal sovereign. If you seek the way to proximity with Mustafa, Go before Abraham from this place.' The seeker came before the noble master, And told him the story, truly sorrowfully. The master said to him: 'Noah is the rest of the soul, God named him Noah because of his lamentation. He was always a man of work in affliction, Lamentation was his day and night from the pain of the work. Until the pain of this task of yours manifests, You cannot hear the story of this pain. If you wish to become a true man, O boy, There is no cure but pain, O boy.'
