(۷) گفتار جعفر صادق / (7) The Discourse of Ja'far al-Sadiq

چنین کردند اصحاب ولایت
ز لفظ جعفر صادق روایت
که ویرانیست این دنیای مردار
وزو ویران ترست آن دل بصد بار
که او ویرانهٔ دنیا گزیند
که تا در مسند دنیا نشیند
ولیکن هست عقبی جای معمور
وزو معمورتر آن دل که از نور
نخواهد جز بعقبی در عمارت
شود قانع دهد دنیا بغارت
English translation
Thus did the companions of sainthood Narrate from the words of Ja'far al-Sadiq: That this carrion world is a ruin, And a hundred times more ruined is that heart Which chooses the ruin of the world, So that it may sit upon the throne of the world. But the Hereafter is a prosperous place, And more prosperous than it is that heart which, out of light, Seeks no building but in the Hereafter; It becomes content and gives the world up to plunder.
