پسر گفتش اگر در جاه باشم
چرا آشفته و گمراه باشم
چو من در اعتدالی جاه جویم
مکن منعم اگر این راه جویم
اگر اندک بود در جاه میلم
غرور جاه نرباید چو سیلم
English translation
The son said to him: 'If I hold high status, Why should I be distressed and lost? Since I seek status in moderation, Do not forbid me if I pursue this path. If my inclination toward status is small, The pride of status will not sweep me away like a flood.'
