The Father's Answer

Original content

English translation

The father said: 'Your ignorance has overcome you, And your heart has desired this cup for that reason, So that when you become aware of every secret, You may become exalted over the entire world. When you see yourself at this high rank in the heavens, You will see all the creatures of the earth in a well. Filled with self-conceit from your own status, You will remain forever in arrogance. Even if you have the Cup of Jamshid in front of you, In which you see every single particle like the sun, What does it matter if you see every speck from that cup, When death places a saw upon your crown? You will gain nothing from the cup, just like Jamshid, For you too will ultimately die miserably like Jamshid. Since having this cup is falling into a well, May straying from the path be forbidden to you.'
