The Father's Answer

Original content

English translation

The father said to him: 'Your head is full of pride, For this thought is far from the truth. For until you gamble away every good and every evil, You will not be a lover except a metaphorical one. If you require perfection in love, You must constantly revolve in three states: First tears, second fire, third blood. If you emerge from these three oceans, Within the veil, your beloved will grant you an audience. Otherwise, your beloved will give you much toil. If you have not become aware of this narrative, This tale is forever sufficient for you.'
