پسر گفتش اگر آب حیاتم
نخواهد داد از مردن نجاتم
نباید کم ازانم هیچ کاری
که بشناسم که چیست آن آب باری
گر از عین الحیاتم نیست روزی
بود از علم آنم دلفروزی
English translation
The son said to him, 'If the Water of Life Will not give me salvation from death, I should not fall short in any effort To know what that water is, at least. If a portion of the Spring of Life is not my lot, Let the knowledge of it illuminate my heart.'
