(7) The Tale of Abu Ali Farmadi

Original content

English translation

Thus the harmonious pathfinders gave News again of Abu Ali Farmadi Who said, 'O man, neither be gladdened by being summoned, Nor dishearten yourself over loss and expulsion. Do not consider your acceptance as a prize, Do not ever be defeated if you are rejected. For when you are not deceived by a blessing for a moment, You will not be brought low by the grief of affliction. Outside of all these varied colors, They will bring you out into another color. If this color falls upon your face, Both worlds will become ambergris-scented from your fragrance. If you find this color, O unique one, You will not need anything eternally. When everything becomes a thing from you, When will you have a desire for anything else? Since you permanently remain yourself without excuse, You will possess everything eternally. When you are permanently effaced in the Divine, They will desire from you, but you will not desire.'
