(12) The Tale of Majnun and Layla

Original content

English translation

Perhaps one day Majnun, in a joyful mood, Was sitting in front of a hospice. There was a wall plastered with gypsum, Whereon Layla and Majnun were seated. He joyfully said, 'Even if I ran for a lifetime, Ultimately, I have seen both together. Perhaps I am seeing this in a dream right now, Layla and Majnun sitting beside each other. Who has ever seen these two together? O God, who in the world has seen such glory?'
