به موسی گفت حق کای مرد اسرار
چو تنها می نشینی دل نگه دار
وگر با خلق باشی مهربان باش
در آن ساعت نگهدار زبان باش
وگر در ره روی سر پیش می دار
نظر بر پیش چشم خویش می دار
وگر ده سفره پیش آرند خلقت
نگه می دار آنجا نیز حلقت
چو تو بس بی طعام ناتمامی
میان در بسته از بهر طعامی
چنان کان طفل حیران می درآید
به رزقش شیر پستان می فزاید
همی کان طفل را تقدیر کردند
به رزقش در دو پستان شیر کردند
چو با تو رزق دایم همبر افتاد
چرا این خلق در یکدیگر افتاد ؟
همه سودا ست ای سودایی آخر
همی سودا چه می پیمایی آخر ؟
اگر تو عاقلی سودا بینداز
تو امروزی غم فردا بینداز
English translation
God said to Moses, 'O man of secrets, When you sit alone, guard your heart. And if you are with people, be kind, At that hour, guard your tongue. And if you walk on the path, keep your head down, Keep your eyes on the path before you. And if they bring ten tables of food before you, Guard your throat there as well. Since you are incomplete without food, And have girded your loin for the sake of food, Just as that bewildered infant arrives, And milk increases in the breast for its sustenance, For they predestined that infant's sustenance, And made milk in the two breasts for its food. Since your sustenance has always been matched with you, Why have these people fallen upon one another? It is all obsession, O obsessed one, in the end; Why do you keep measuring this obsession after all? If you are wise, cast away this obsession, Cast away today the worry of tomorrow.'
