دعا می کرد آن داننندهٔ دین
جهانی خلق می گفتند آمین
یکی دیوانه گفت آمین چه باشد
که آگه نیستم تا این چه باشد
بدو گفتند آمین آن بود راست
کامام خواجه از حق هرچه درخواست
چنان باد و چنان باد و چنان باد
زبان بگشاد آن مجنون بفریاد
که نبود آن چنان و این چنین هیچ
کامام خواجه خواهد، چند ازین پیچ
ولیکن جز چنان نبود کم و بیش
که حق خواهد چه می خواهید ازخویش
گرت چیزی نخواهد بود روزی
نباشد روزیت جز سینه سوزی
اگر او خواهدت کاری برآید
وگرنه از گلت خاری برآید
English translation
That knower of religion was offering a prayer, A world of people was saying 'Amen.' A madman said: 'What is this Amen? For I do not know what it is.' They said to him: 'Amen means indeed, Whatever the leader of the congregation asked of God, May it be so, and may it be so, and may it be so.' That madman raised his voice in a shout: 'None of that and none of this will be, As the leader desires; why this complexity? Indeed, nothing will be, more or less, Save what God wills; what do you want from yourselves? If something is not destined to be your daily bread, Your lot will be nothing but a burning chest. If He wills, your task will succeed, Otherwise, only a thorn will grow from your clay.'
