The Tenth Discourse

Original content

English translation

The son said to him, 'If you are ashamed of status, Truly the love of status is the desire of the great.' Since his eye turned away from position and status, Whom have you seen who has turned his head from status? Did you not see that Joseph from the bottom of the well Fell onto the throne of sovereignty and into status? I have not seen in time any child of Adam Free from the love of status and the love of wealth. I have tested many of every kind, For the furnace-room did not become a rose-garden for anyone. And if these both became equal to someone, This person would be an animal, not a human. But since a human is a possessor of intellect, He is not a donkey; his movement is toward status. Did not Jesus go to the heavens from status? The angel is always in the well because of ignorance.
