پدر گفتش چه گر اندک بود جاه
کزان اندک بسی مانی تو در چاه
دگر ره گر بطاعت بنگری باز
ترا حالی حجابی افتد آغاز
چو از طاعت حجابی پیشت آید
حجاب از جاه جستن بیشت آید
English translation
The father said to him: 'Even if worldly rank is small, By that little you will remain long in the well. If you look upon your obedience once more, A veil will immediately fall upon you at the start. Since a veil comes before you from obedience, The veil from seeking worldly rank will be even greater.'
