به پیش کعبه ابراهیم ادهم
بحق می گفت کای دارای عالم

مرا معصوم خواه و بی گنه دار
گناهی کان رود زانم نگه دار

یکی هاتف خطابش کرد آنگاه
که این عصمت که می خواهی تو در راه

همین بودست از من خلق را خواست
اگر کار تو و ایشان کنم راست

که تا جمله بهم معصوم مانید
همه از رحمتم محروم مانید

هزاران بحر رحمت بی قیاسست
ولیکن بنده را جای هراسست

ندارم از جهان جز بیم جان من
ز درد او زبان ترجمان من

چو من از عمر بهبودی ندیدم
زیان دیدم ولی سودی ندیدم

بمردن راضیم زین زندگانی
اگر بازم رهانی می توانی

ز سر تا پای من جای نظر نیست
که بروی هر زمان زخمی دگر نیست

English translation

Before the Kaaba, Ibrahim Adham Was saying to the Truth, 'O Lord of the universe, Keep me protected from sin and guiltless; Guard me against any sin that may occur.' An unseen voice then addressed him: 'This protection from sin that you seek on the path, This is exactly what all creation has desired from Me. If I make things right for you and them, So that you all remain sinless together, You will all remain deprived of My mercy.' There are thousands of boundless oceans of mercy, Yet there is still a place of fear for the servant. I have nothing from the world but the fear for my soul, My tongue is the interpreter of its pain. Since I saw no well-being in my life, I saw only loss and gained no profit, I am content to die from this life, If You can deliver me from it once more. From head to toe, there is no place on me to look at That does not bear a new wound at any moment.'
