(2) The Tale of Iblis and His Lamentation

Original content

English translation

On the desert road, that unique one said, 'I saw two streams of black water flowing. I followed the trail to see what water it was, that ran with such speed. At last, when I reached a stone, I saw Iblis fallen upon the dust. His two eyes were like two blood-showering clouds, from each of his eyes a stream of blood was flowing. He was weeping like rain and lamenting, constantly repeating these words: "This story is not because of that moon-like face, but the color of my blanket is black. They do not want my obedience, yet they place the blame upon my neck. To whom has such a situation ever happened? No one remembers the likes of this!"'
