الا ای ترجمان نفس گویا
تویی کز تو نشد پوشیده مبدا

گهی املا کنی اسرار جان را
گهی انها کنی راز نهان را

تو هم دربان جانی هم در دل
هم از روی حقیقت همسر دل

لباس لطف در معنی تو پوشی
نه یک تن با همه گیتی تو کوشی

گهی غواص باشی گه گهربار
گهی زهر آوری گاهی شکربار

بجز آثار تو اندر زمانه
نماند هیچ چیزی جاودانه

بقا هم از تو یابد آدمیزاد
هزاران آفرین بر جان تو باد

کنون برخوان ز خسرو داستانی
بکن انجام کارش را بیانی

English translation

O interpreter of the speaking soul, You are the one from whom the origin is not hidden. Sometimes you dictate the secrets of the soul, Sometimes you announce the hidden secret. You are both the gatekeeper of the soul and the door of the heart, And in truth, the companion of the heart. You clothe meaning in the garment of grace, Not as a single body, you strive with the entire world. Sometimes you are a diver, sometimes scattering pearls, Sometimes bringing poison, sometimes bearing sugar. Except for your traces in the world, Nothing remains eternal. Humanity also finds eternity through you, A thousand blessings be upon your soul! Now recite a story of Khosrow, And explain the outcome of his affair.
