تو دریا بین اگر چشم تو بیناست
که عالم نیست عالم کفک دریاست

خیالست این همه عالم بیندیش
مبین آخر خیالی را از این پیش

تو یا دیوانه یا آشفته باشی
که چندین در خیالی خفته باشی

تو چو مردان بازی خیالی
شده بالغ چو طفلی در جوالی

پری در شیشه دین کار طفل است
که بالغ بی خیال علو و سفل است

هلا بشنو ز اوج عرش اسرار
که نیست ای خواجه اندر دار دیار

هر آن حرفی که دیدی هیچ آمد
ولی در چشم تو پر پیچ آمد

همین حرفی که آن پیچی ندارد
الف بود و الف هیچی ندارد

چه خوانی ابجد این کار چندین
که ابجد راست الف حرف نخستین

الف هیچی ز اول آخرش لا
ز ابجد تا ضظغلا لا و سودا

اگر صد راه گیری ابجد از سر
میان هیچ و لایی مانده بر در

تو می گویی که مرد مرد رستم
برو کز رخش آید کار رستم

English translation

See the ocean if your eye is seeing, For the world is not the world, it is the foam of the ocean. All this world is an illusion, reflect on it; Do not consider an illusion as more than this any longer. You must be either mad or bewildered, To have slept so long in an illusion. You, like men, are playing with illusions; Having become an adult, like a child in a sack. Seeing a fairy in a glass is the work of a child, For an adult is without the illusion of high and low. Hey, listen to the secrets from the zenith of the throne: There is no one in the dwelling, O master. Every letter that you saw amounted to nothing, Yet in your eyes it appeared full of twists and turns. This very letter that has no twists, Was Alif, and Alif has nothing in it. Why do you read the alphabet (abjad) of this affair so much, When Alif is the first letter of the alphabet? Alif is nothing from the beginning, its end is La (no/nothing), From Abjad to Dhad, Zha, Ghayn, Lam, Alif is 'no' and madness. If you take the alphabet from the beginning a hundred times, You remain at the door between 'nothing' and 'no'. You say that you are a manly man, a Rustam; Go, for the work of a Rustam comes from his Rakhsh (his steed).
