بخش ۲ - فی فضیلت امیرالمؤمنین عمر رضی الله عنه / Section 2 - On the Virtue of the Commander of the Faithful Umar, May Allah Be Pleased with Him

سپهر دین عمر خورشید خطاب
چراغ هشت جنت شمع اصحاب

چه شمعی کآفتاب نامبردار
طواف او کند پروانه کردار

ازین پرتو که بود آن شمع دین را
نمی شایست جز خلد برین را

اگر او قطب دین حق نبودی
کمال شرع را رونق نبودی

ز بهر سر بریدن سر بداد او
بدان شد تا سرآرد سر نهاد او

چو آهنگ سر شمع هدی کرد
به پیش طای طاها سر فدا کرد

چو چشم جان او اسرار بین شد
شکش برخاست مشکلها یقین شد

شریعت را کمال افزود اول
ز چل مردان یکی او بود اول

رسولش گفت گر بودی دگر کس
نبی جز من نبودی جز عمر کس

خداوند جهان از نور جانش
سخنها گفته بی او بر زفانش

چو حق را حلقهٔ در گوش کرد او
بنامش زهر قاتل نوش کرد او

از آن برخویشتن زهر آزمودی
که صد تریاق فاروقیش بودی

چنان شد ظلم در ایام او گم
که اشکی در میان بحر قلزم

جهان از عدل او آسوده گشته
ستم از بیم او نابوده گشته

عجم را تا قیامت درگشاده
هزار و شصت وشش منبر نهاده

English translation

The sphere of religion, Umar, the sun of Khattab The lamp of the eight paradises, the candle of the companions What a candle, that the renowned sun Circumambulates him like a moth From this radiance that this candle of religion possessed He was worthy of nothing but the highest heaven If he were not the pole of the religion of truth The perfection of the Sharia would have no splendor He set out to behead, but gave up his own head He went to bring it to an end, he laid down his head When he made for the head of the candle of guidance Before the 'Ta' of 'Ta-Ha', he sacrificed his head When the eye of his soul became a seer of secrets His doubt departed, difficulties became certainties He first added perfection to the Sharia He was the first among the forty men His Messenger said: If there were to be another person A prophet besides me, it would be no one but Umar The Lord of the world, from the light of his soul Spoke words, without him, upon his tongue When he placed the ring of truth in his ear In His name, he drank the deadly poison He tested the poison upon himself for this reason That he possessed a hundred Farooqi antidotes Oppression became so lost in his days Like a teardrop in the middle of the Red Sea The world became tranquil from his justice Tyranny became non-existent from fear of him He opened the door to Persia until the Resurrection And established a thousand and sixty-six pulpits
