نکو گفته ست آن درویش حالی
که می خواهم سه چیز از حق تعالی

یکی در خواب مرگی با سلامت
دوم در مرگ خوابی تا قیامت

سیم چیزی که گفتن را نشاید
چه گویم زانک در گفتن نیاید

خداوندا به فضلت دل قوی باد
کسی کز ما کند بر نیکویی یاد

قرین نور باد آن پاک رایی
که این گوینده را گوید دعایی

گرت در جام خود خونیست برخیز
ز چشم خون فشان بر خاک ما ریز

که بعد از ما عزیزان وفادار
به خاک ما فرو گویند بسیار

کنند از دل بسوی ما خطابی
ولی از گور ما ناید جوابی

بسی خونها بخوردند و برفتند
به درد و غصه زیر خاک خفتند

کنون ما نیز خون خوردیم و رفتیم
به درد و غصه زیر خاک خفتیم

بسی گفتیم و خاموشی گزیدیم
ز گویایی به خاموشی رسیدیم

خموشانند زیر خاک بسیار
نبینم من ازیشان کس خبردار

هزاران جان پاک از قالب پاک
فدای این همه روهای پر خاک

چرا چندین سخن بایست گفتن ؟
چو زیر خاک می بایست خفتن

English translation

Well said that dervish once: 'I want three things from God Almighty: First, in sleep, a peaceful death; Second, in death, a sleep until the Resurrection; Third, something that should not be spoken of— What can I say, for it cannot be expressed in words.' O Lord, by Your grace may the heart be strong, Of anyone who remembers us with goodness! May that pure-minded one be a companion to light, Who offers a prayer for this speaker. If there is blood [sorrow] in your cup, arise, Scatter blood from your weeping eyes upon our dust. For after us, loyal dear ones Will speak much over our dust. They will address us from the heart, But no answer will come from our grave. Many suffered deeply [drank blood] and departed, In pain and sorrow they slept beneath the earth. Now we too have suffered deeply and departed, In pain and sorrow we have slept beneath the earth. We spoke much and chose silence, From speaking we arrived at silence. There are many silent ones beneath the earth, I do not see anyone aware of them. Thousands of pure souls from pure frames, Sacrificed for all these dust-covered faces! Why must so many words be spoken? When beneath the earth one must sleep.
