چنین گفته ست آن پیر پر اسرار
که نه گم می شوی تو نه پدیدار

اگر چون عرش اعلا گردی از عز
به هیچت بر نمی گیرند هرگز

وگر چون ذره ای گردی به خردی
چنین گفت او که هم گم می نگردی

چه می خواهی چه می گویی کجایی
سخن از دوغ گوی ای روستایی

English translation

Thus said that mysterious elder, 'That you are neither lost nor apparent. If you become as exalted as the highest throne, They will never hold you in any regard. And if you become as small as an atom in smallness, Thus he said that you will not become lost either. What do you want, what do you say, where are you? Speak of buttermilk, oh villager!'
