دفتر چهارم - بخش ۸۰ - بیان سبب فصاحت و بسیارگویی آن فضول به خدمت رسول علیه‌السلام / Book Four - Section 80 - Explanation of the Reason for the Eloquence and Loquaciousness of That Meddler in the Presence of the Prophet (upon him be peace)

Original content

English translation

The radiance of the Prophet's boundless intoxication— When it struck, that dull-witted one too became intoxicated and joyful. Inevitably he became loquacious from elation; Intoxicated, he abandoned propriety and fell into confusion. Not everywhere does ecstasy (bī-khwudī) cause harm; Wine makes the ill-mannered even worse. If one is wise, he becomes gloriously radiant (nikū-farr); But if one is ill-natured, he becomes worse. But since most were wicked and unworthy, They have declared wine forbidden (muḥarram) for all.
