دفتر ششم - بخش ۳ - نکوهیدن ناموسهای پوسیده را کی مانع ذوق ایمان و دلیل ضعف صدق‌اند و راه‌زن صد هزار ابله چنانک راه‌زن آن مخنث شده بودند گوسفندان و نمی‌یارست گذشتن و پرسیدن مخنث از چوپان کی این گوسفندان تو مرا عجب گزند گفت ای مردی و در تو رگ مردی هست همه فدای تو اند و اگر مخنثی هر یکی ترا اژدرهاست مخنثی دیگر هست کی چون گوسفندان را بیند در حال از راه باز گردد نیارد پرسیدن ترسد کی اگر بپرسم گوسفندان در من افتند و مرا بگزند / Book Six - Section 3 - Censure of the decayed reputations that hinder the taste of faith and prove the weakness of sincerity, and waylay a hundred thousand fools, just as the sheep had waylaid that effeminate man so he dared not pass by, and the effeminate man asking the shepherd, 'Will these sheep of yours bite me?' He said, 'If you are a man and have a vein of manhood in you, they are all a sacrifice to you, and if you are effeminate, each one is a dragon to you.' There is another effeminate man who, as soon as he sees the sheep, turns back from the road and dares not ask, fearing, 'If I ask, the sheep will fall upon me and bite me.'

دفتر ششم - بخش ۴ - مناجات و پناه جستن به حق از فتنهٔ اختیار و از فتنهٔ اسباب اختیار کی سماوات و ارضین از اختیار و اسباب اختیار شکوهیدند و ترسیدند و خلقت آدمی مولع افتاد بر طلب اختیار و اسباب اختیار خویش چنانک بیمار باشد خود را اختیار کم بیند صحت خواهد کی سبب اختیارست تا اختیارش بیفزاید و منصب خواهد تا اختیارش بیفزاید و مهبط قهر حق در امم ماضیه فرط اختیار و اسباب اختیار بوده است هرگز فرعون بی‌نوا کس ندیده است / Book Six - Section 4 - Supplicating and seeking refuge in God from the trial of free will and the trial of the causes of free will, since the heavens and the earths shrank and feared from free will and the causes of free will, while the nature of man became greedy in seeking free will and its causes; just as a sick man sees his free will diminished, he desires health which is the cause of free will so that his free will may increase, and desires high office so that his free will may increase, and the landing-place of God's wrath upon past nations has been the excess of free will and the causes of free will; no one has ever seen a destitute Pharaoh.

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۲ - حکایت آن صیادی کی خویشتن در گیاه پیچیده بود و دستهٔ گل و لاله را کله‌وار به سر فرو کشیده تا مرغان او را گیاه پندارند و آن مرغ زیرک بوی برد اندکی کی این آدمیست کی برین شکل گیاه ندیدم اما هم تمام بوی نبرد به افسون او مغرور شد زیرا در ادراک اول قاطعی نداشت در ادراک مکر دوم قاطعی داشت و هو الحرص و الطمع لا سیما عند فرط الحاجة و الفقر قال النبی صلی الله علیه و سلم کاد الفقر ان یکون کفرا / Book Six - Section 12 - The Tale of the Hunter Who Wrapped Himself in Grass and Put a Bunch of Roses and Tulips Over His Head Like a Hat So That the Birds Would Think He Was Grass, and That Clever Bird Sensed a Little That This Was a Man, Since It Had Not Seen Grass of This Shape, but It Did Not Fully Realize and Was Deceived by His Charm, Because in the First Perception It Had No Certainty, but in the Second Perception of the Deceit It Did Have Certainty, and That is Greed and Avarice, Especially in the Case of Extreme Need and Poverty. The Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him, Said: 'Poverty is Near to Being Disbelief'

دفتر ششم - بخش ۳۲ - قصهٔ هلال کی بندهٔ مخلص بود خدای را صاحب بصیرت بی‌تقلید پنهان شده در بندگی مخلوقان جهت مصلحت نه از عجز چنانک لقمان و یوسف از روی ظاهر و غیر ایشان بندهٔ سایس بود امیری را و آن امیر مسلمان بود اما چشم بسته داند اعمی که مادری دارد لیک چونی بوهم در نارد اگر با این دانش تعظیم این مادر کند ممکن بود کی از عمی خلاص یابد کی اذا اراد الله به عبد خیرا فتح عینی قلبه لیبصره بهما الغیب این راه ز زندگی دل حاصل کن کین زندگی تن صفت حیوانست / Book Six - Section 32 - The Tale of Hilal, who was a sincere servant of God, possessed of insight without imitation, hidden in servitude to creatures for expediency rather than incapacity, just as Luqman and Joseph and others were ostensibly servants; he was a groom to an Amir, and that Amir was a Muslim but blind to his true state. A blind man knows he has a mother but cannot conceive of her form; yet if he honors her with this knowledge, he may be freed from blindness, for 'When God wills good for a servant, He opens the eyes of his heart to see the unseen with them.' Acquire this path from the life of the heart, for the life of the body is merely an animal attribute

Do Not Act Recklessly out of Ignorance, for This Man is Aided by God and Has a Great Host from the Truth in His Soul', to the End of the Story

دفتر ششم - بخش ۸۸ - لابه کردن موش مر چغز را کی بهانه میندیش و در نسیه مینداز انجاح این حاجت مرا کی فی التاخیر آفات و الصوفی ابن الوقت و ابن دست از دامن پدر باز ندارد و اب مشفق صوفی کی وقتست او را بنگرش به فردا محتاج نگرداند چندانش مستغرق دارد در گلزار سریع الحسابی خویش نه چون عوام منتظر مستقبل نباشد نهری باشد نه دهری کی لا صباح عند الله و لا مساء ماضی و مستقبل و ازل و ابد آنجا نباشد آدم سابق و دجال مسبوق نباشد کی این رسوم در خطهٔ عقل جز وی است و روح حیوانی در عالم لا مکان و لا زمان این رسوم نباشد پس او ابن وقتیست کی لا یفهم منه الا نفی تفرقة الا زمنة چنانک از الله واحد فهم شود نفی دوی نی حقیقت واحدی / Book Six - Section 88 - The mouse entreating the frog, saying, 'Do not invent excuses and do not postpone the fulfillment of my need, for in delay there are perils. The Sufi is the son of the moment, and the son does not withdraw his hand from the father's skirt; and the Sufi's compassionate father, which is the Moment, does not leave him in need of looking towards tomorrow, but keeps him so absorbed in the rose-garden of His swift reckoning that he, unlike the vulgar, does not await the future. He is of the River, not of Time, for with God there is neither morning nor evening. Past and future, pre-eternity and post-eternity, do not exist there. There is no preceding Adam and succeeding Antichrist, because these relations exist only in the domain of the particular intellect and the animal spirit; in the world of non-spatiality and non-temporality these relations do not exist. Therefore he is the son of the moment, a phrase by which nothing is meant except the negation of divided times, just as by God the One is meant the negation of duality, not the reality of the number one.'

دفتر ششم - بخش ۹۷ - مثل دوبین هم‌چو آن غریب شهر کاش عمر نام کی از یک دکانش به سبب این به آن دکان دیگر حواله کرد و او فهم نکرد کی همه دکان یکیست درین معنی کی به عمر نان نفروشند هم اینجا تدارک کنم من غلط کردم نامم عمر نیست چون بدین دکان توبه و تدارک کنم نان یابم از همه دکان‌های این شهر و اگر بی‌تدارک هم‌چنین عمر نام باشم ازین دکان در گذرم محرومم و احولم و این دکان‌ها را از هم جدا دانسته‌ام / Book Six - Section 97 - The parable of the cross-eyed person, like that stranger in the city of Kash named Umar, who, because of this, was referred from one shop to another and did not understand that all shops are one in the sense that they do not sell bread to an Umar. (He should have said:) 'Let me make amends right here; I made a mistake, my name is not Umar. If I repent and make amends at this shop, I will get bread from all the shops of this city. And if, without making amends, I remain named Umar and pass by this shop, I will be deprived, and I am cross-eyed and have considered these shops to be separate from one another.'

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۰۴ - بیان استمداد عارف از سرچشمهٔ حیات ابدی و مستغنی شدن او از استمداد و اجتذاب از چشمه‌های آبهای بی‌وفا کی علامة ذالک التجافی عن دار الغرور کی آدمی چون بر مددهای آن چشمه‌ها اعتماد کند در طلب چشمهٔ باقی دایم سست شود کاریز درون جان تو می‌باید کز عاریه‌ها ترا دری نگشاید یک چشمهٔ آب از درون خانه به زان جویی که آن ز بیرون آید / Book Six - Section 104 - Explaining the mystic's seeking help from the fountain of eternal life and his becoming independent of seeking help and drawing from the fountains of faithless waters, the sign of which is 'shunning the abode of delusion' because when a man relies on the supports of those fountains he becomes perpetually slack in seeking the abiding fountain: 'Thou needst a water-channel within thy soul, for from borrowed things no door will open to thee. One spring of water from within the house is better than a stream that comes from without.'

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۰۹ - حکایت آن دو برادر یکی کوسه و یکی امرد در عزب خانه‌ای خفتند شبی اتفاقا امرد خشت‌ها بر مقعد خود انبار کرد عاقبت دباب دب آورد و آن خشت‌ها را به حیله و نرمی از پس او برداشت کودک بیدار شد به جنگ کی این خشت‌ها کو کجا بردی و چرا بردی او گفت تو این خشت‌ها را چرا نهادی الی آخره / Book Six - Section 109 - The Tale of Those Two Brothers, One a Kusa (Thin-Bearded Man) and One an Amrad (Beardless Youth), Who Slept in a Bachelor's Quarters One Night. By Chance, the Amrad Piled Bricks Against His Anus. Eventually, the Pederast Crept Over and Gently Removed Those Bricks by Trickery from Behind Him. The Youth Woke Up Fighting, 'Where Are These Bricks? Where Did You Take Them and Why Did You Take Them?' He Said, 'Why Did You Put These Bricks Here, etc.'

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۱۴ - روان گشتن شاه‌زادگان بعد از تمام بحث و ماجرا به جانب ولایت چین سوی معشوق و مقصود تا به قدر امکان به مقصود نزدیک‌تر باشند اگر چه راه وصل مسدودست به قدر امکان نزدیک‌تر شدن محمودست الی آخره / Book Six - Section 114 - The princes setting off, after all the discussion and adventure, towards the realm of China, toward the beloved and the goal, so that they might be as close to the goal as possible; for even if the path of union is blocked, drawing as near as possible is praiseworthy, et cetera

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۰۶ - رفتن پسران سلطان به حکم آنک الانسان حریص علی ما منع ما بندگی خویش نمودیم ولیکن خوی بد تو بنده ندانست خریدن به سوی آن قلعهٔ ممنوع عنه آن همه وصیت‌ها و اندرزهای پدر را زیر پا نهادند تا در چاه بلا افتادند و می‌گفتند ایشان را نفوس لوامه الم یاتکم نذیر ایشان می‌گفتند گریان و پشیمان لوکنا نسمع او نعقل ماکنا فی اصحاب السعیر / Book Six - Section 106 - The King's Sons Setting Out, by the Rule 'Man is Greedy for What is Forbidden,' (Saying), 'We Have Done Our Duty as Servants, But Your Evil Disposition Did Not Know How to Buy the Servant,' Towards That Forbidden Fortress, Trampling Underfoot All the Advices and Counsels of Their Father, Until They Fell Into the Well of Tribulation, and Their Reproachful Souls Said to Them, 'Did There Not Come to You a Warner?' and They Replied, Weeping and Repenting, 'Had We Listened or Used Our Intelligence, We Should Not Be Among the Companions of the Blazing Fire'

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۱۸ - حکایت آن شخص کی خواب دید کی آنچ می‌طلبی از یسار به مصر وفا شود آنجا گنجیست در فلان محله در فلان خانه چون به مصر آمد کسی گفت من خواب دیده‌ام کی گنجیست به بغداد در فلان محله در فلان خانه نام محله و خانهٔ این شخص بگفت آن شخص فهم کرد کی آن گنج در مصر گفتن جهت آن بود کی مرا یقین کنند کی در غیر خانهٔ خود نمی‌باید جستن ولیکن این گنج یقین و محقق جز در مصر حاصل نشود / Book Six - Section 118 - The story of that person who dreamt that what you seek of wealth will be fulfilled in Egypt; there is a treasure there in such-and-such a quarter in such-and-such a house. When he came to Egypt, someone said, 'I have dreamt that there is a treasure in Baghdad in such-and-such a quarter in such-and-such a house,' and he stated the name of the quarter and house of this person. That person understood that the purpose of being told 'that treasure is in Egypt' was so that he might be certain that he must not seek anywhere but in his own house; but this certain and verified treasure could not be obtained except in Egypt.

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۳۳ - متوفی شدن بزرگین از شه‌زادگان و آمدن برادر میانین به جنازهٔ برادر کی آن کوچکین صاحب‌فراش بود از رنجوری و نواختن پادشاه میانین را تا او هم لنگ احسان شد ماند پیش پادشاه صد هزار از غنایم غیبی و غنی بدو رسید از دولت و نظر آن شاه مع تقریر بعضه / Book Six - Section 133 - The death of the eldest of the princes, the arrival of the middle brother at his brother's funeral since the youngest was bedridden with illness, and the King's cherishing of the middle brother until he too became captivated by his kindness and remained with the King; a hundred thousand unseen spoils and riches reached him from the fortune and gaze of that King, along with the explanation of some of this

دفتر ششم - بخش ۸۴ - منادی کردن سید ملک ترمد کی هر کی در سه یا چهار روز به سمرقند رود به فلان مهم خلعت و اسپ و غلام و کنیزک و چندین زر دهم و شنیدن دلقک خبر این منادی در ده و آمدن به اولاقی نزد شاه کی من باری نتوانم رفتن / Book Six - Section 84 - The Lord King of Tirmidh proclaiming that whoever goes to Samarkand in three or four days on a certain important business, I will give him a robe of honor, a horse, a slave, a handmaiden, and so much gold; and Dalqak hearing the news of this proclamation in the village, and coming post-haste to the king to say, 'I, at any rate, cannot go'

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۰۳ - حکایت آن پادشاه و وصیت کردن او سه پسر خویش را کی درین سفر در ممالک من فلان جا چنین ترتیب نهید و فلان جا چنین نواب نصب کنید اما الله الله به فلان قلعه مروید و گرد آن مگردید / Book Six - Section 103 - The Tale of That King and His Testament to His Three Sons, Saying, 'On This Journey in My Realms, Arrange Things Thus in Such and Such a Place, and Appoint Deputies Thus in Such and Such a Place, But by God, Do Not Go to Such and Such a Fortress and Do Not Go Around It'

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۱۰ - در تفسیر این خبر کی مصطفی صلوات‌الله علیه فرمود منهومان لا یشبعان طالب الدنیا و طالب العلم کی این علم غیر علم دنیا باید تا دو قسم باشد اما علم دنیا هم دنیا باشد الی آخره و اگر هم‌چنین شود کی طالب الدنیا و طالب الدنیا تکرار بود نه تقسیم مع تقریره / Book Six - Section 110 - In commentary on the tradition in which Mustafa, peace be upon him, said, 'Two greedy ones are never satisfied: the seeker of the world and the seeker of knowledge,' that this knowledge must be other than the knowledge of the world for there to be two categories; but the knowledge of the world is also the world, and so on; and if it were so, then 'the seeker of the world and the seeker of the world' would be a repetition, not a division, with its explanation

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۱۶ - بعد مکث ایشان متواری در بلاد چین در شهر تختگاه و بعد دراز شدن صبر بی‌صبر شدن آن بزرگین کی من رفتم الوداع خود را بر شاه عرضه کنم اما قدمی تنیلنی مقصودی او القی راسی کفادی ثم یا پای رساندم به مقصود و مراد یا سر بنهم هم‌چو دل از دست آن‌جا و نصیحت برادران او را سود ناداشتن یا عاذل العاشقین دع فة اضلها الله کیف ترشدها الی آخره / Book Six - Section 116 - After their delay in hiding in the cities of China in the capital city, and after patience grew long, the eldest brother lost his patience, saying, 'I have gone, farewell, I will present myself to the king. Either my foot will reach my goal or I will lay down my head (die) like a lost heart there,' and his brothers' advice having no benefit upon him, 'O reprover of lovers, leave a group whom God has led astray; how can you guide them?' et cetera

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۲۵ - مکرر کردن برادران پند دادن بزرگین را و تاب ناآوردن او آن پند را و در رمیدن او ازیشان شیدا و بی‌خود رفتن و خود را در بارگاه پادشاه انداختن بی‌دستوری خواستن لیک از فرط عشق و محبت نه از گستاخی و لاابالی الی آخره / Book Six - Section 125 - The brothers repeating their advice to the eldest, his inability to endure that advice, his fleeing from them in a distracted and selfless state, and throwing himself into the king's court without seeking permission, but out of the extremity of love and affection, not out of impudence and carelessness, et cetera

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۳۲ - در بیان آنک دوزخ گوید کی قنطرهٔ صراط بر سر اوست ای مؤمن از صراط زودتر بگذر زود بشتاب تا عظمت نور تو آتش ما را نکشد جز یا مؤمن فان نورک اطفاء ناری / Book Six - Section 132 - In explanation of Hell saying, because the bridge of Sirat is over it, 'O believer, pass over the Sirat more quickly, make haste, lest the greatness of your light extinguish our fire: Pass, O believer, for your light extinguishes my fire'

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۳۸ - رجوع کردن بدان قصه کی شاه‌زاده بدان طغیان زخم خورد از خاطر شاه پیش از استکمال فضایل دیگر از دنیا برفت / Book Six - Section 138 - Returning to that story of how the prince, due to that rebellion, received a wound from the king's thought and passed away from the world before the perfection of other virtues

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۱۵ - حکایت امرء القیس کی پادشاه عرب بود و به صورت عظیم به جمال بود یوسف وقت خود بود و زنان عرب چون زلیخا مردهٔ او و او شاعر طبع قفا نبک من ذکری حبیب و منزل چون همه زنان او را به جان می‌جستند ای عجب غزل او و نالهٔ او بهر چه بود مگر دانست کی این‌ها همه تمثال صورتی‌اند کی بر تخته‌های خاک نقش کرده‌اند عاقبت این امرء القیس را حالی پیدا شد کی نیم‌شب از ملک و فرزند گریخت و خود را در دلقی پنهان کرد و از آن اقلیم به اقلیم دیگر رفت در طلب آن کس کی از اقلیم منزه است یختص برحمته من یشاء الی آخره / Book Six - Section 115 - The Story of Imra' al-Qais, who was the king of the Arabs, of immense beauty, the Joseph of his time, and the women of the Arabs were dying for him like Zulaikha, and he was a poet by nature [who wrote] 'Halt, let us weep over the memory of a beloved and an abode' (Qifa nabki min dhikra habibin wa manzil). Since all women sought him with their souls, how strange it was what his odes and laments were for! Perhaps he knew that these are all just mere forms painted on the boards of earth. Ultimately, a state came upon this Imra' al-Qais that at midnight he fled from his kingdom and children, hid himself in a dervish cloak, and went from one clime to another in search of Him who is free from any clime, 'He singles out for His mercy whom He wills', and so on to the end.

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۲۴ - بازگشتن آن شخص شادمان و مراد یافته و خدای را شکر گویان و سجده کنان و حیران در غرایب اشارات حق و ظهور تاویلات آن در وجهی کی هیچ عقلی و فهمی بدانجا نرسد / Book Six - Section 124 - The return of that person, joyful and having attained his desire, giving thanks to God, bowing in prostration, and amazed at the wondrous indications of God and the manifestation of His interpretations in a way that no intellect or understanding can reach

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۲۶ - مفتون شدن قاضی بر زن جوحی و در صندوق ماندن و نایب قاضی صندوق را خریدن باز سال دوم آمدن زن جوحی بر امید بازی پارینه و گفتن قاضی کی مرا آزاد کن و کسی دیگر را بجوی الی آخر القصه / Book Six - Section 126 - The Qadi becoming infatuated with Juhi's wife, remaining in the chest, the Qadi's deputy buying the chest, Juhi's wife coming again the second year hoping for the same trick as last year, and the Qadi saying 'Set me free and seek someone else,' to the end of the story

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۲۹ - در تفسیر این خبر کی مصطفی صلوات‌الله علیه فرمود من کنت مولاه فعلی مولاه تا منافقان طعنه زدند کی بس نبودش کی ما مطیعی و چاکری نمودیم او را چاکری کودکی خلم آلودمان هم می‌فرماید الی آخره / Book Six - Section 129 - In interpretation of the tradition wherein Mustafa, peace be upon him, said, 'Whomever I am his master (mawla), Ali is his master,' such that the hypocrites taunted, saying, 'Was it not enough for him that we showed him obedience and servitude, that he now commands us to the servitude of a snot-nosed child?' and so on to the end

دفتر ششم - بخش ۹۸ - توزیع کردن پای‌مرد در جملهٔ شهر تبریز و جمع شدن اندک چیز و رفتن آن غریب به تربت محتسب به زیارت و این قصه را بر سر گور او گفتن به طریق نوحه الی آخره / Book Six - Section 98 - The mediator begging for alms throughout the city of Tabriz, gathering a small amount, and the stranger going to the tomb of the inspector for visitation, and telling this story over his grave by way of lamentation, up to the end

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۱۳ - ذکر آن پادشاه که آن دانشمند را به اکراه در مجلس آورد و بنشاند ساقی شراب بر دانشمند عرضه کرد ساغر پیش او داشت رو بگردانید و ترشی و تندی آغاز کرد شاه ساقی را گفت کی هین در طبعش آر ساقی چندی بر سرش کوفت و شرابش در خورد داد الی آخره / Book Six - Section 113 - Mention of that king who brought that scholar to the assembly by force and seated him; the cupbearer offered wine to the scholar and held the goblet before him; he turned his face away and began to show sourness and harshness; the king told the cupbearer, 'Hey, bring him into the mood!'; the cupbearer struck him on the head a few times and made him drink the wine, to the end

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۰۲ - گفتن خواجه در خواب به آن پای‌مرد وجوه وام آن دوست را کی آمده بود و نشان دادن جای دفن آن سیم و پیغام کردن به وارثان کی البته آن را بسیار نبینند وهیچ باز نگیرند و اگر چه او هیچ از آن قبول نکند یا بعضی را قبول نکند هم آنجا بگذارند تا هر آنک خواهد برگیرد کی من با خدا نذرها کردم کی از آن سیم به من و به متعلقان من حبه‌ای باز نگردد الی آخره / Book Six - Section 102 - The master telling the mediator in a dream the ways of the debt of that friend who had come, and showing the burial place of that silver, and sending a message to the heirs that they should by no means consider it too much and not take any of it back, and even if he does not accept any of it or accepts [only] some of it, they should leave it right there so that whoever wants can take it, for I have made vows with God that not a grain of that silver shall return to me or to my dependents, etc.

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۱۷ - بیان مجاهد کی دست از مجاهده باز ندارد اگر چه داند بسطت عطاء حق را کی آن مقصود از طرف دیگر و به سبب نوع عمل دیگر بدو رساند کی در وهم او نبوده باشد او همه وهم و اومید درین طریق معین بسته باشد حلقهٔ همین در می‌زند بوک حق تعالی آن روزی را از در دیگر بدو رساند کی او آن تدبیر نکرده باشد و یرزقه من حیث لا یحتسب العبد یدبر والله یقدر و بود کی بنده را وهم بندگی بود کی مرا از غیر این در برساند اگر چه من حلقهٔ این در می‌زنم حق تعالی او را هم ازین در روزی رساند فی‌الجمله این همه درهای یکی سرایست مع تقریره / Book Six - Section 117 - The explanation that the spiritual striver does not withhold his hand from striving, even if he knows the vastness of God's bestowal, which might deliver that desired object to him from another direction and by means of a different kind of action that was not in his imagination. He has attached all his imagination and hope to this specific path, knocking at this very door, in the hope that God the Exalted might deliver that provision from another door which he has not contrived, 'And He provides for him from where he does not expect' (Qur'an 65:3). The servant contrives and God ordains. And it might be that the servant has the illusion of servanthood, thinking, 'He will bring it to me from other than this door, even though I am knocking at this door,' yet God the Exalted delivers his provision to him from this very door. In short, all these doors are of one palace, along with its exposition.

دفتر ششم - بخش ۱۳۴ - وسوسه‌ای کی پادشاه‌زاده را پیدا شد از سبب استغنایی و کشفی کی از شاه دل او را حاصل شده بود و قصد ناشکری و سرکشی می‌کرد شاه را از راه الهام و سر شاه را خبر شد دلش درد کرد روح او را زخمی زد چنانک صورت شاه را خبر نبود الی آخره / Book Six - Section 134 - The temptation that appeared to the prince due to the independence and revelation he had attained from the king of the heart, and his intention of ingratitude and rebellion; the king became aware of this through inspiration and inner secret, his heart ached, and he struck his spirit a wound such that the outward form of the king was unaware of it, and so on to the end

دفتر ششم - بخش ۹۹ - دیدن خوارزمشاه رحمه الله در سیران در موکب خود اسپی بس نادر و تعلق دل شاه به حسن و چستی آن اسپ و سرد کردن عمادالملک آن اسپ را در دل شاه و گزیدن شاه گفت او را بر دید خویش چنانک حکیم رحمة الله علیه در الهی‌نامه فرمود چون زبان حسد شود نخاس یوسفی یابی از گزی کرباس از دلالی برادران یوسف حسودانه در دل مشتریان آن چندان حسن پوشیده شد و زشت نمودن گرفت کی وَ کانوا فیهِ مِنَ الزّاهِدینَ / Book Six - Section 99 - Khwarazmshah, may God have mercy upon him, seeing a very rare horse in his cavalcade during a ride, and the King's heart becoming attached to its beauty and agility; and Imad al-Mulk cooling the King's heart toward the horse, and the King preferring his word over his own sight, just as the Sage, may God's mercy be upon him, said in the Ilahi-Nama: 'When the tongue of envy becomes the broker, you will find a Joseph to be worth no more than a yard of canvas'; through the envious brokering of Joseph's brothers, so much beauty was concealed in the hearts of the buyers and began to appear ugly, such that 'and they were of those who were indifferent to him.'
