Original content

English translation

If he had weakness in the virility of donkeys, he possessed the true manhood of the prophets. To abandon anger, lust, and greed is true manhood and the vein of prophethood. Let there be no donkey-like virility in his veins, yet God calls him 'the Great Commander'. To be a dead one whom God looks upon is better than a living one who is far and rejected. Recognize this [spiritual strength] as the kernel of manhood, and that [animal strength] as the husk; that leads to Hell, while this leads to Paradise. 'Paradise is surrounded by hardships' has arrived, 'Hell is surrounded by desires' has appeared from passion. O Ayaz, the brave lion and slayer of demons, less of donkey-like virility, more of mindful manhood! That which many a high authority failed to comprehend was but child's play before you—indeed, you are a true man. O you who have perceived the sweetness of My command, and have faithfully surrendered your soul for My command, now hear the story of the delight of the command and its taste, in its spiritual explanation.
