داستان مأموریت فرشتگان برای آوردن خاک آدم در دفتر پنجم / The Narrative of the Angels' Mission to Gather Earth for Adam in Masnavi Book Five

In Book Five of the Masnavi (Sections 64-70), Rumi presents the narrative of God commanding four archangels—Gabriel, Michael, Israfil, and Azrael—to gather a handful of earth for the creation of Adam's physical body. As each angel descends, the Earth tearfully pleads to be spared, warning of the future sins, trials, and suffering of mankind. Moved by compassion, Gabriel, Michael, and Israfil return to God empty-handed. Finally, Azrael executes the command, demonstrating that absolute obedience to the Divine Will must supersede personal feelings of pity. This overarching story explores the metaphysical conflict between divine decree and emotional sympathy, and it serves as the origin account for Azrael's appointment as the Angel of Death.
